Training Seminars and Workshops

HACVS offers training on:

1. AUTUMN TRAINING SEMINARS
Free training seminars are being offered during September, October and November 2007. It is being organised and run by Mike Nichols, Infrastructure Development Worker (EESI Project), and Pauline Price, Development Officer, (Crawley CVS)

Each course is aimed at those involved in any kind of voluntary work, especially in positions of leadership and direction. The style will be supportive and will focus on effective and efficient delivery of service.

2. FIRST AID COURSES
Adult Education are offering two different First Aid courses at Collyers, Hurst Road, Horsham in autumn 2007 and spring 2008.

First Aid At Work which is a full Health and Safety at work course held over
4 days and is certificated (valid for 3 years). Cost £175*
Dates** 22-25 Oct 07, 18-21 Feb 08 plus they are running a course in July 2008 which runs over 2 weekends.

First Aid for Appointed Persons is a one day course covering basic life saving first aid and relevant Health & Safety regulations. Cost £60*
Dates** 12 Oct 07, 22 Feb 08, 9 May 08.

*Group booking discount available—3 for the price of 2.

3. TRAINING FROM THE CARE TRAINING CONSORTIUM
The Care Training Consortium is a not-for-profit, employer-led organisation set up by West Sussex County Council Social & Caring Services to assist the independent (Private & Voluntary) care sector in West Sussex access information and funding support for quality training and development provision.

4. SURREY COMMUNITY ACTION
SCA Training provides short courses in a wide range of personal and professional skills.

The Working Together Project

The Working Together Project provides training to community groups and voluntary organisations in Sussex. All their training events respond directly to outreach and ongoing consultation with local community groups and voluntary organisations.
The training is free for community activists, volunteers, paid workers and management committee members and is delivered in community venues usually in Brighton and Hove.
